Professor Forced Out for Citing George Washington
link to Story
Nutshell:
Teacher sends out an e-mail.
Leftist co-workers file "harassment" charges, even though they have "violated" email policy as well.
This is what got -him fired

It may have been liberal's complaining........or.......people who wanted his job/didn't like him. I realize this was a community collge but there are extreme rivalries amongst people in the academic community. He had tenure, so people might have seen this as the only way to fire him, and move up in their job. Just a theory though.

This is the stupidest comment you have ever made. So what? if he was a professor at a University he would be more important? :sign0080:
You would rail for free speech if it was a professor talking about anti-immigration laws or speaking out against the Iraq war, but because it has religious undertones you take the "who cares" attitude.

It was a joke.
I'm on the side of give the guy his job back on this one...I said that. My joke was just pointing out the fact that both sides of this incident (the prof himself and his coworkers who got him fired) are not exactly the experts on anything, especially politics or history. So when I see them essentially bickering about something like this like we do here, only with someone's job on the line, I think it's pathetic enough to be funny.
We'll let Isalmic extremists live tax-free in compounds all over our country, we print the friggin DMV handbook in 38 languages, but a college Professor at an American JC cannot cite George Washington's Thanskgiving message and send it via email?
Where the F*** is my ammo? geez....I hope he can sue somehow...
