Sympathy? Nope ~ it's a volunteer army now. You sign you don't whine. Just would be nice if they were serving a purpose instead of an agenda! I served in Special Ops for 4 duties in VN... please don't preach to me about sympathy ~ oh, and YES the draft got me. I didn't sign in.

"Daddy" didn't start a war, Saddam did.
"Daddy" wanted to remove Saddam in '91, the UN said no.
4 duties in the Nam?
Which unit(s)?
You don't know anyone named Olmek by chance?

NW OBS,
There are a lot of prior service people here and some have served in some pretty highspeed units, including myself.
Would you be willing to verify your service? And I don’t mean a certificate either... I mean REALLY verify with a paper-trail and pictures. You see, i've worked side by side with some of the best in the military verification field, all of which have served in a combat mos all the way to secret squirrel status. It just so happens that since I wrote this this particular blog entry in my now somewhat popular 'Stolen Valor' series, i've gotten many requests for verification myself. I've gotten to the bottom of all the request and have never once jeopardized the personal information of those involved. Heck, I even verified a claim here on I-club with a picture of a person.
Some may think of me asking for verification to be witch hunt. It's much more than that. So please, give me the information I need to verify your VN claim to fame. If you are who you say you are then i'll apologize and thank your service and welcome your opinion. But something tells me you're the equivalent to number 9 in my linked entry above:

9. A lot of fakes (especially liberals against Bush and the war) will pretend to have served to give their stance on certain issues more gusto for political debate. You can readily find these losers speaking their minds in political chat rooms. They are as common as middle-aged child molesters in pursuit of thirteen-year-old boys in other chat rooms. Tread lightly... if they suspect you’re on to them, they’ll immediately edit their incredibly hyped user profiles and deny everything.

Oh, I see. So, I have your approval to post on a public political forum on a Suby cite ~ that's a very important
area of my life. :rotfl:
Yes, I am the black sheep of the family. My Uncle was a Major in the Marines (now retired) and we did the same tours, my cousin (his daughter) is CIA and was up in Bush's jet with him right after 911 (where ever they went?). Me, I fought a war in a country we weren't in. You figure it out... If your really that good.
I'm back talking about cars ~ I find it much more enjoyable!
Oh, and they LOVE Bush. I don't. Simple.

All I really need is a full name and approximate area they live at to give me two points to go off. You give the clerk at the grocery store this much when handing them your credit card. They already have an idea where you live...
And the idea that I’m an unknown or untrustworthy person is weaksauce. Heck, I sponsor two forums here with an ad banner. People here have met me or know of me. And should the unfortunate happen regarding identity theft, then guess who has his name plastered all over the forums asking for personal info. Wouldn't take long for me to be a suspect and then be immediately cleared as one.

Seems NW OBS won't give me so much as a picture or at least a timeline of units he served with... According to him via PM, the trauma of VN was too traumatic to give out such trivial information to an stranger (except i'm not a stranger here and have my website plastered above). But the memories aren't damaging enough to quickly add how he has 4 tours with a "Special Operations" group nonetheless...

To support you Salty. I have never met a service member (past or present) who was not willing to tell other Veterans or actives their service details. be it who they were with, when, what unit, where, etc.
I think it's another olmec.
