i watched the whole thing. i agreed with allot of what he said, but there was equal parts bull**** and reality.

and im still not confident that he has the political capital and know-how to change everything he wants to.

I don't think thats the problem. It is the empty promises that he constantly spews out to brainwash people.

How does giving our money to La Raza, ACORN, etc stimulate the economy?
Now that's racist.

Because you sir have demonstrated palpable bigot qualities time & time again. I give you all the credit in the world for being consistent.

Since you're okay with England's Parliament acting in such a manner, I hope you recognize what you are asking for in light of my response to your question about the race card.

hating someone for their beliefs or race is bigotry. stating fact is not.

funny that this same argument in this same thread can be said the exact same way about ANY politician. we were saying these same things in this thread when bush brought us into a useless war (just as an example). replace the name Obama with politician X and there you have it. its called politics. now that the other side of the aisle is in office, it's so easy to see how anything any politician says SHOULD be taken with a grain of salt. he's trying to please everyone, which is obviously impossible, so my joke on that is that these politicians wrote these speeches for one person, and unfortunately that person just wasn't tuning in to see the speech . learn to sift through the bs, people, and you'll see that these politicians can only do so much to appease the masses via oration. but what does come out is their underlying motivations. some politicians are outright explicitly selfish in their mannerisms, while others are genuinely philanthropic, but both still have groups of people to satisfy, so they are under more scrutiny to them (lobbyists, corporate boards) than they are to the american public. understand where they are coming from, who motivates them, and you will see that there is little they can actually do to help the people - you and me. so its futile to debate whether or not he is going to follow through on his "promises".

plus, lets give him a godam year to do something. as a moderate, i wanted bush to succeed, so it's sad to see that he couldnt make it work, even with all the power and people at his side. as with any politician, i also watch obama with a critical eye.

Obama has taken office in a really tough time. For those of you who will wait and see what gets done are probably smart, but in my opinion he is already leaps and bounds better then our last president.

True, many politicians say one thing and do another. But that is not what Obama's campaign was built around. It was built around "change" in Washington. That, and he is outright lying to the American people by saying things like no pork, no earmarks. He is a jerk off and is going to run this country further into the ground and create uncontrollable debt.

The guys been in office for a month. Give him some time. He challenged congress to make new laws to change how we live. Sorry but hes so much smarter and better of for us than bush. You are just nay saying. Please list an example of these empty promises if you are going to insult the man. And if you voted for bush you pretty much lost your right to an opinion imo.
The fact is we all know presidents are generally accountable for sweeping statements the make. our last president didnt have the ***** to do anything. Please tell me 1 thing obama has done that is so wrong, and not parroting **** that isn't true. Lets here something real.

I thought his speech was good, and I hope he can follow through on a lot of what he says.
He's already promised so much, he will be hung if he doesn't deliver on a lot of it.
