NY Gov to tax the poor, the fat.
im saying a person that consumes soda and candy consistantly is more likely to be a fatty

Also, A obese person does not have health problems due to fattyness. Besides my weight, I have no health problems. My friends that are in "great shape" however have back, knee, stomach, and gall bladder problems. Makes me wonder why I'm paying for all these anorexic peoples problems.

I'm insured through my company and they have no idea what my physical health status is. So any fatties that go to the hospital for being a fatty with a fatty disease cause from candy & soda doesn't have much effect on my premium.

The problem is that is not just fatty foods that are driving up our obesity rate.
Our increasingly seditary lifestyle as well as a lack of physical exertion are also driving forces in America's obesity.
But yes, a diet comprised primarily of fatty foods - even combined with exercise will typically result in a high BMI.

it's not a bad idea as obesity causes undue financial strain on the healthcare industry, and a good portion of uninsured people get government assistance. misguided, but not a bad idea. even diet soda can cause as many health problems as non-diet soda. juice can lead to problems as well.
maybe food should finally be taxed? i don't know how other states but in california, unprepared foods (like from the grocery store) are not taxed.
<- is a fatty, agrees with use based taxes, doesn't drink much soda

The problem is we think that people have a "right" to free health care, and that the State should provide it.. But people forget that the State will only make things worse(more costly/ less efficient) for everyone..
Screw New York City... They are a parasitic lesion on the hairy butt of New York State. (I got that quote from an Upstate New Yorker)

Wrong, they are more than likely to be a tweeker. Of course my opinion might be biased as a non-sweet eating FATTY

Also, are you really going to try to argue that obese people don't get health issues from the obesity? Are you really going to try to argue that?

The leading cause of death in the US is heart disease. While heart related deaths are not solely caused by obesity, and the actions that lead to it (obesity from overeating, rather than genetic conditions) it does add a significant risk towards it. Coming in at 6 or 7 is diabetes related deaths. The vast majority of people with diabetes have Type II, which is associated with being overweight (even below the "obese" weights).
Saying there aren't health risks from being overweight is one of the most ignorant things someone, especially someone that IS admittedly overweight, can say. Please, go to a doctor and get educated on the risks. Please also be aware that "I don't have any health conditions from it, therefore none exist" is not a valid argument.
