Wrong, they are more than likely to be a tweeker. Of course my opinion might be biased as a non-sweet eating FATTY

Also, A obese person does not have health problems due to fattyness. Besides my weight, I have no health problems. My friends that are in "great shape" however have back, knee, stomach, and gall bladder problems. Makes me wonder why I'm paying for all these anorexic peoples problems.

I don't think there have been any valid studies/surveys of this. However, soda/candy are consumed by the healthy and unhealthy alike, so I'm not a fan of paying more for something that I consume responsibly because it has adversely affected the health of XX amount of the population.

I'm insured through my company and they have no idea what my physical health status is. So any fatties that go to the hospital for being a fatty with a fatty disease cause from candy & soda doesn't have much effect on my premium.

The problem is that is not just fatty foods that are driving up our obesity rate.

Our increasingly seditary lifestyle as well as a lack of physical exertion are also driving forces in America's obesity.

But yes, a diet comprised primarily of fatty foods - even combined with exercise will typically result in a high BMI.

maybe food should finally be taxed? i don't know how other states but in california, unprepared foods (like from the grocery store) are not taxed.

<- is a fatty, agrees with use based taxes, doesn't drink much soda
Insurance, medicare and medicaid and litigation cause undue financial strain on the health care system.. Sugary sodas are another item the State can use as a vehicle to steal your money.

The problem is we think that people have a "right" to free health care, and that the State should provide it.. But people forget that the State will only make things worse(more costly/ less efficient) for everyone..

Screw New York City... They are a parasitic lesion on the hairy butt of New York State. (I got that quote from an Upstate New Yorker)

What race are you? It's a legit question, I swear.

Also, are you really going to try to argue that obese people don't get health issues from the obesity? Are you really going to try to argue that?

Are you going to try to argue that obese people cause the increase in health care cost?

No, I'm just going to argue against his claim that obesity does not lead to health issues because, honestly, its one of the more retarded statements I've heard recently.

The leading cause of death in the US is heart disease. While heart related deaths are not solely caused by obesity, and the actions that lead to it (obesity from overeating, rather than genetic conditions) it does add a significant risk towards it. Coming in at 6 or 7 is diabetes related deaths. The vast majority of people with diabetes have Type II, which is associated with being overweight (even below the "obese" weights).

Saying there aren't health risks from being overweight is one of the most ignorant things someone, especially someone that IS admittedly overweight, can say. Please, go to a doctor and get educated on the risks. Please also be aware that "I don't have any health conditions from it, therefore none exist" is not a valid argument.
