So, they claim they have nuclear warheads, and now supposedly have a missile which can carry them to the continental US. So, I'm curious what you guys think should happen, since this is essentially the scenario we were told was unfolding in Iraq befroe invading them and deposing Saddam.

We would also have the advantage of not being able to be accused of having ulterior motives for the invasion/attack; NK has nothing of value to us except a lot of people being treated pretty poorly by their government.

I don't know, but why is it that we Americans can have the biggest baddest weapons and when another country builds them we kill them? If our government wasn't so shady we wouldn't have to feel so threatened by every other country. We don't have the troops to send over, we are already spread too thin. It would be suicide, but it wouldn't surprise me if troops get sent anyway.

There is no doubt in my mind that North Korea + nukes is a singularly bad idea. they *will* come into conflict with someone, probably the US or Japan. Japan they can invade; us they cannot. Nukes + terrorist special ops are the only weapons they could use against s offensively, and do you really think that regime would be afraid to if they had goals that they thought war could achieve for them?

You are probably right, they most likely pose some sort of threat, but what can we do about it? We just don't have the troops. The military is hurting for people so bad right now that if I refer a friend to the army and the enlist I get $1,000. Nobody wants to join and the people who are in want out. We just can't get inolved, in my opinion. If we had an exit strategy for Irag, then maybe, but I think we will lose if we invade Korea now.

I don't really support an invasion either. We'd have enough problems if they were to invade the south without us starting it. But I'm all for preventing them from having intercontinental nukes by whatever means necessary.

Might want to check the facts on that statement. Enlistment is up. Standards might be lower but enlistment is up. We don't have to worry about Bush screwing with N. Korea because of the China factor. Iraq has nothing close to that kind of power looming over it.

NK is just trying to gain a tool for blackmail. Not a weapon to destroy it's enemys. Just because you walk into a gun fight with a pistol doesn't mean squat when the big boys are carrying M-60's. You'd just be commiting suicide.
