The national anthem that once endured the radical transformation administered by Jimi Hendrix's fuzzed and frantic Stratocaster now faces an artistic dare at least as extreme: translation into Spanish.

The new take is scheduled to hit the airwaves today. It's called "Nuestro Himno" -- "Our Anthem" -- and it was recorded over the past week by Latin pop stars including Ivy Queen, Gloria Trevi, Carlos Ponce, Tito "El Bambino," Olga Tañon and the group Aventura. Joining and singing in Spanish is Haitian American artist Wyclef Jean.

I'm sorry but this is the United States of America.
Try going to any other country and see what happens there.
Lived in Japan for 10 years, and although there is a certain level of multi-lingual signs and what not, they do not cater to the non Japanese speaking people that reside within their borders.
We as a country should try to accomodate those of different languages BUT we should not have to conform to their language.

It is ridiculous, I'm glad to see just about everyone in agreement on this one. I like how they changed a couple of the verses to conform to thier agenda. 
I really can't say I have a problem with it being sung in spanish if the true meaning was american patriotism. I believe they are exploiting, and bastardizing a symbol of the great country in which they live for thier ideology, which in nothing new of course..

Who cares its a damn song. You can either listen to it or not. I bet hardly a one of you can sing the whole without looking it up. I mean seriously talk about *****ing about the smallest thing possible. This should be at the bottom of list of problems our president should be talking about.
