If you want to ***** about the immigration problem, go knock on GWB's door. He's the one that wants to let them all in to take our jobs. C'mon man I expect more out of you.
Well, that red title was supposed to be more of a joke directed toward your huge red banner. I'm not complaining about Mexico and Foreign Country aid. I think it's awesome! But to put Mexico on a pedestal for a assisting us is just a drop in the ocean as far as I’m concerned - I assumed the red banner was the pedestal - hence the joke. It's the least they could do. That's all I’m saying.

And it’s much more Mexico’s fault for illegal immigration than the United States and the powers that be. You don’t see a huge problem at the Canadian border, do you? It’s because most Canadians like Canada. Who’s fault is it for Mexicans not liking Mexico and their country not being able to provide like America? Ours? Not nearly as much as it is their own.

No, it's not ours, but we know the problem is there and with that I think that there should be so more action taken in securing out borders.

Actually if you go to the article on MSNBC's website then you will see that their title is in red and a little larger. I was just relaying the feel of the article presented. Actually MSNBC does that to all their articles.

I understand your argument though. It was the first time I had seen anything regarding foreign aid in our mainstream news so I thought it was nice and fairly signifigant considering what we do for Mexico on a regular basis. Those mobile kitchen things that they are sending can feed 7,000 people a day for each one they sent. That is alot of F*cking people.

As for the immigration being more their problem then ours, thats true but we have the power and ability to do something about it but the administration chooses not to. So the onus falls more onto us I feel. Mexico and their government won't really change too much but we can effect change if we try.

Just to give everyone an update, several countries have came to our aid for this.
-Bosnia sent $6414. I know that doesn't sound like much, but have you ever been there? Thats half their GNP!
-Sweden has Water purification equipment, and stand alone equipment to provide cellular service to almost all the gulf coast but its waiting to be approved by the state department.
-Kuwait is sending 400,000 gallons of oil, for free.
-Saudi Arabia is sending something like 10 million dollars
-Canada has sent water purification equipment, hundreds of doctors and nurses, and search and rescue personnel
-Cuba, yes, Cuba, volunteered to send 100 doctors, but was turned down by the state department
-Pakistan has sent 10 million dollars
- there were several other donations sent by approx 20 other countries also, i just can't remember them all right now

how about

"Mexico takes back its millions of citizens displaced illegally in the US to make room for jobs for the unemployed as a result of Katrina"

thatd be a good headline.

or

"Mexico donates millions of dollars to relief efforts to free up tax money otherwise used to providing free medical care and schooling for illegals"

I too would like stricter controls on immigration, but...

You do realize why food is cheap? Cheap labor = illegal immigrants. Sad, but true reality.

ill pay more for food, and have my country with less criminals, because thats what they are...criminals...assuming the abide by every US law, they get here by BREAKING the law.

i have no sympathy. i have no compassion. they drain our economy. you realize that one of mexicos leading income sources is money sent back from the united states from mexican workers?

its not like they work here, pay taxes, and contribute to society (as a whole, and im referring to illegals not legals).

im all for immigration. my family immigrated here, my wife was born in Russia and lived there until she was 9. but the fact is, do it legally or dont do it at all.

its sad fact that both parties are worthless when it comes to border control.

the common argument is that they take up the cheap labor that no one else would do, etc. bull****. and even if they did, it would be more worth it to take an increase in prices to have a country where the common language in the SW is turning into spanish, hospitals near borders have to close down because of the financial strain from the illegals, and schools suffer because of it as well...funding and learning.

the terrorist threat isnt even included in this argument. mexico encourages people to come here. its easy to dump millions of disgruntled mexican citizens into america. ambulances sometimes travel across the border into america just to have a baby, etc. its pathetic that we let this go on.

i can assure you the drain on society and the budgets is much worse than the jobs they supposedly fill.

drizzle or fizzle or whatever your name is, just so you know, youre such a ****ing dumbass with kneejerk responses to elict more responses i just put you on ignore. congrats, youre the first person to make my ignore list. maybe if you had a worthwhile contribution, i would listen but youre just an idiot.

Well, I like cheap food, don't really think its a bad thing that they want a better life, don't really give a **** about giving a bit more to taxes, and have a few good friends who *gasp* immigrated here illegally, or their mothers/fathers did.

I could go deeper, into a more economical and political post, but those are the thoughts on the top of my head.

It's true. What's worse is the fact we've grown accustomed to it. But I strongly agree with Oaf on a thread awhile back when he said, "Starvation & Death are wonderful motivators." So true.

You want lettuce bad enough then there will be those willing to go back to their under-paid, overworked roots.
