Democrats support "womens rights," but only support women when they conform to a left wing ideology.
Democrats support "equality," but their insane focus on "diversity" results in white flight, racism, and oppression.
Democrats support "freedom of speech," yet they support "the fairness doctrine" which would eliminate talk radio. They support only speech they agree with.

Shall I go on?

The people voting for Obama are not bad, just uninformed.
Once more, there is NO SUCH THING as "core Values" of the USA...

No one reglion (well, not supposed to be but you can argue Christianity is)
no one skin color
no one belief system
no one type of people arrive here

America stands for the haven of immigrants, it's incribed into the statue of liberty. For the ever changing, growing, and yes, progressing nation, we will find values, customs, and slogans change over time.

No such thing as core values, values change with each generation.

What defines a country? a country needs to have a "culture" to be united. if a country doesn't have a culture how do the immigrants assimilate? the diversity is preventing unity and if we can learn to share the same or similar values the better off the country will be as a whole.

They great thing about this country is that we're all free to disagree with each other. The sad part is that some feel the need to attack whomever disagrees with us.

If oyu want support either of the candidates, great! I'm glad you've found someone you believe in and that share's your views. On the other hand, there's no need to be defensive about your choice, especially by degrading or demeaning the opposing side or the supporters of that side.

That is what the "core" of America is. We can disagree but still want what we think is best for the country. It's not who thinks what way or who lives where. Some depressed emo kid in LA is just as American as a kindergarten teacher in Topeka, KA.
I'm late to this party but, QFMFT!!

I think you've highlighted what's wrong with the democrat party. Democrats are obsessed with making the U.S. lose it's cohesion and core values.

What are those core values?

Heres how I see it:
- Representative Democracy - we put trust in those who we elect to make the right choices for our future. We have faith that, while they may get it wrong on occasion, the "washington elite" will make the right choices for our country
- "Liberty and justice for all" - EVERYBODY has a God-given right to freedom and justice that is not affected by race, gender, ethnicity.
- "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" - EVERYBODY has a God-given right to life. EVERYBODY has a God-given right to pursue their own happiness.

I think those are values Republicans and Democrats alike can agree on.

Agreed. Besides the most basic values, each generation will have a different understanding of what is right and wrong, good and bad.
