McCain/Palin '08 Ticket discussion
So I was quite shocked at the pick. I know little about Palin. I did do some reading this morning. All in all she appears to be much like McCain. She does not appear to ride the party line, seems to have little problem calling a spade a spade, is up to snuff on energy policy and resources, clean past, strong ingrained beliefs. This should help the McCain ticket quite a bit. Many dem voters are still a bit butt hurt over Hilliary. This election has already turned into a race/gender issue from the start. Let's see how the media spins this one up.
This is going to be a tighter race now. McCain is definitely trying to get the women vote and really be in bed with the 'religious right' which he couldn't have before. Once again the swing states will decide the winner. I say McCain/Palin wins the electoral college and Obama/Biden lose with the popular vote.

She can't be any worse than Hillary.
That being said, whomever wins can't be any worse than what we have right now. Once again, I'm not voting so I can't really complain.

Crap, that is an oxymoron, isn't it? Good call.
So okay. Palin actually seems fairly cool. I have some pretty similar political beliefs to her, and I even look up to her a little. She's a straight-shooter and a little bit of a bad-***, imo. Maybe I'm just personally running out of steam, hence the apathy comment. I will say this much; Palin coming on board isn't why McCain is gonna win my vote. I agree there are a lot of female voters who'll appreciate the move, but I'm looking sheerly at Palin's politics vs. gender.

Unfortunately, we don't have much voting history to go on. Although as character judgment goes, she leaves little to question. I like the fact she gave the finger to members of her own party. Is against gay marriage, in support of gay rights. Seriously I think he made a good pick.

) It's a smart policy to have: prevention versus intervention. Pretty basic concept that some just haven't grasped yet. Overall yes, I think it was a smart choice.I think I still feel apathetic, though maybe we're realizing the source of my apathy may not be directly related to McCain/Palin, yet decided to rear it's ugly little head here all the same
