Forget about Bush for two seconds... what about the god damn people? The same people Kerry would lead if he became President! Do they have a say in the matter? Do the familiy members of those POW/MIA individuals and the Veterans he betrayed have the right to question him? Does his former chain of command and SOF community have the right to call him out on tactical SOP, decency and the inability to suck it up and drive on?

Better yet...as a Veteran, am I allowed to question a Presidential Candidate, Will?

I have seen Kerry's type a handful of times! They pushed a Bronze Star reccomendation when they should have been put in for an ARCOM at best. Bullet to ballistic armor? Give that man a PH!

This is why, short of McCain making a serious run for the presidency, he should at the very least PUNCH BUSH IN THE FACE!

I personally have no problem with people avoiding service in Vietnam, if I were around back then, I would have tried to get out of it too.

What pisses me off is that someone who didn't even serve has the ***** to question the record of someone who did.

That's EXACTLY my point. What the hell does Bush's record have to do with Kerry Reenacting war scenes?

By the way, Bush NEVER questioned Kerry's record. Kerry needs to be scrutinized as a potential leader of this nation.

What I want to know is why so many people won't even look into it, but simply point the finger at Bush. Don't you think there is something wrong with that?

Under scrutiny, Kerry's record seems "atypical." Don't you want to know who might be the next president?
A self congratulatory bump.

Of course YOU wouldn't find anything wrong with Kerry's service...

Actually, one does not have to search very desperately to find this out. There is no hypocracy... the truth is that Kerry owns Bush on the issue of past military service, and if I were Bush's campaign manager, I would avoid this subject at all costs.

Scoob that would be cool and all, but Kerry's campaign is the one that started the mudslinging on this topic.

And I'd really like to see you walk into a guard unit and call them draft dodgers.

OK my point is that Guard service is service. Joining the Guard and volunteering for a unit that was currently operating in Vietnam is not draft dodging. Using that term for Guard service is disrespectful to current and former Guard soldiers.

My other point is that the Bush campaign did not introduce this into the campaign. It was Kerry who brought it up. This is well documented.

No that was back in April. Kerry released that statement and gave a few speeches criticizing Dubya's service. Up to that point the Bush campaign had not made an issue of Kerry's service.

You will note that it's the troops who served with Kerry who are bringing that to the table. Unlike the troops who served with Dubya who for the most part have backed him up. It's telling IMHO.

But as I said in another thread - the same military that gave medals to Kerry also gave an honorable discharge to Dubya. We accept one or we accept neither.
