The war on Iraq and removal of Saddam wasn't exactly because we were going after WMD's. I mean, sure Iraq had them. But come on people, I knew just like everyone else that keeps up on world affairs knew, that the WMD's were taken out of Iraq and into places like SYRIA long before we got there. I think Saddam knew we were going to invade well before the rest of the world did.

I strongly believe that it was necessary for America and it's allies to remove Saddam and his cronies. I also believe that no matter who was president, it was something that was going to be done. I think that the WMD reason was deemed as necessary to gain public support for this action in the shortest time possible. The actual reasons, although warranted, were just too complicated for the general public to comprehend soon enough for us to take advantage of a window of opportunity. The democrats took HUGE advantage of this durring the elections. I can't blame them, they knew they had Bush cornered. All Bush could do was suck it up and hope that the majority of the U.S. population was smarter than that. He couldn't exactly outright admit that what he was being accused of was true. Lying. But I think it was a neccessary "white" lie.

Can anyone guess who's funding the terrorist actions in Iraq right now?...and why?

I think using the wmd excuse to attack them was stupid in the first place, regardless of whether or not they ever had them. Why not take him out based on the fact that he was a bastard? How many human rights/geneva violations? I mean, come on.

Son, that's what I've contended all along. Our nation doesn't go to war for the heck of it.

I'd guess we are there to secure natural resources, redefine the middle east (in a pro-western way) for another 100yrs of peace, strengthening our military presence in the world (securing bases in that region), etc.

We didn't go in there to free women from their burkas.

Would someone else help me state this in a more eloquent manner?

There won't be peace til thier all gone. It's been going on way too long for it to be ended by a handshake and a hug.
