I'm a Global Warming Skeptic, but.......

If there turns out to be open water at the north pole this summer for the first time in human history, like is being predicted then that might change my opinion.

http://www.independent.co.uk/environ...le-855406.html

I have always been of the opinion that it would be naive of us to think that we don't have an impact on the earth, but it was always way overblown by alarmist individuals looking to further their agenda....Now I am not so sure....

Look at the Greenland Ice caps. Melting away at a dramatic rate and why do you think we're reaching record high temperatures like 108 +degrees, and having more violent hurricanes, storms, tsunamis. Mother Natures took millions of years to create our resources, and human kind only took like a couple hundreds years to wipe it out.. But thats just my 0.02 cents.

the changes or events that we will see in our lifetime compared to the actuall age of the earth (apprx 4.5 billion years) is nothing to be so alarmed about so its gotten warmer its alot better than living through an ice age.

im all for clean air, clean water, alternate fuels/energy, conservation etc..

hurricanes, storms, tsunamis have been going on since the earth has been around. imo nature cannot be controlled

No, but he's Paul, so, you know

Unfortunately I don't think it is possible to say that human kind definitely did or definitely didn't have an impact.

No more(or less) so than you can show "facts" that man is the only cause for increase in the average temp.

We've been down this road before: all the facts indicated that the world's average temperature is rising, which has happened several times in the past...before Man was on the scene...and will continue into the future as long as nature allows it to.

It's pure arrogance to say and/or believe that the insignificant race of creatures called homosapiens are the sole cause of "Global Warming".

I wasn't trying to pin you down on it I was really asking. And I definately don't think we are the sole cause of it, there are just too many factors. But along those same lines I think it is very naive to think homosapiens don't have a noticeable impact on the environment, I would contend that humans on earth are one of the largest factors for change the earth has ever seen, be it negative or positive.

That being said, do I think the world is going to end soon because of it....No

I also don't think there is anything wrong with trying to do things differently to do less harm to the environment.

Absolutely agree with this.
I use refillable non aerosol cans, recycle everything that I can at the shop, including the scrap parts I remove from cars, etc.
