If gun was banned...
would it stop random shooting?
school shooting?
gang related deaths through gun use?
will there be less deaths overall if guns are banned?
without factoring in black market guns if it is banned.
will gangsters take up karate?

Maybe, but probably not
How can you not factor in black market gun sales/purchases...thats one of the reasons that responsible people need firearms
NO, they will still find a way to get guns

I am not familiar with Japan and their firearm policies, but I am pretty sure if you took guns away from law-abiding citizens and our law enforcement, there would be a massive **** storm

for example, in korea, in the military, you have to collect every single bullet casing that you've fired during training. if you're missing one, you can't leave until you find it. thats just how strict it is. they have nets next to their chamber to catch the casings. - to prevent it being smuggled into public.
so, another question arises. if guns are banned, will there be a efficient way to enforce that law?

When this happens on a larger scale, many people are going to die.

Chris Rock says if they made bullets cost $1000 each, there would be no such things as innocent bystanders

Same question asked over and over again. Banning gun will prevent law abiding citizens from being able to own guns. But the criminals (who we need to keep the guns away from) will not give a rats *** about this "ban" and continue smuggling, selling and buying guns.
But if they can somehow enforce this by a nation wide sweep by superman and take all weapons from citizens and criminals, then people would resort to violence without guns. I've weatched police videos where criminals rob liquor stores with pitchforks and swords.
And why are we talking about banning guns? I have the right to keep and bear arms.
