I wish Hollywood would stop trying...

"HOME OF THE BRAVE" is a big war film opening this Christmas just in time for Oscar consideration. The film stars Samuel L Jackson, 50 Cent, Jessica Biel, Christina Ricci, and others. If the picture below doesn't tell you how important accuracy was to the film makers, check out the link for a look at some combat clips from a rough production trailer: http://trailersforthemasses.blogspot...n-trailer.html

Accuracy, eh? Like in the movie Basic?

Holy hell! Where do they get their military advisors from? Looks like he hasn't shaved in 4 days and the beret is so ****ed I can't even begin to explain...

It would really do directors/producers good to listen to their military advisors for once. You can tell when they actually do because those are the few great military movies. I think the problem with hollywood military advisors is the way they sell themselves... they may be too real for the person in charge tastes. Nobody wants to hear about how men sat in a perimeter for 48hours bored off their asses or how their main concern was when they’d be able to get time to play x-box again. A military advisor needs to just say “Hey, you can make a movie about how a team of SEALs jumped into the objective from 100,000ft ... all I want to do is make them look half-way decent for mediocre movie sales and so you don't make complete mockery of the men and women serving...”

Apparently the Army doesn't hand out no-shave chits to african american males like the Navy does. Sadly if he was in a Navy uniform he would like most of the black guys I ever served with.
Other than that, is the beret really high? Seems to be to me.

It might as well be a goddamned pizza or cooks hat. There's not even a unit crest in the middle of the flash and it's at least a size too big (see right side of beret in pic where it’s loose). Not to mention it's not properly fitted and shaven.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the no-shave chit give away in the Navy.

I think Hollywood is directed to be 'off' on the uniforms the actors wear. I've only seen something that gross in comedies and old 80's prime-time action shows, but maybe that's their reasoning.

If a dude has a shaving profile, he don't have to shave. He's got to take one of those sideburn trimmers to his beard to maintain it, but that's about it.
