I wouldn't call it a crusade. There's nothing wrong with using them for their email. And yes, Dre, I will still use it. You're not the only one that knows how the internet works. I'm very aware of Google's algorithm as I rank well with Google in all my sites and am very aware of how they monitor my email account. Is the issue based on the fact I still use Gmail (keyword being use), or that Google blatantly refuses to make a logo? Do I have to be non-affiliated to have an opinion? Think about how else this applies.

Either s*** or get off the pot. Either Google is anti-military, and you stop 'using' them (you support them when you have g-mail weather you think you do or not) or you should shut the f*** up about their anti-whatever sentiments.
Like I said, you are the one(s) who are making a mountain of a mole hill. Admit it, realize they put up banners for things that are FUN (rather than humbling and somber) and QUIT YOUR B****ING.

That's fine, at least you're boycotting...Salty said he (and others) WON'T boycott because they like their service too much...
Didn't you accuse me of dropping red herrings like Hella not too long ago...

You seem to be quite upset about this with all the curse words. So if I get rid of my gmail account you'll accept my opinion? Interesting.

i just read the little forum they had going over the logo and I liked Google's response to the issue. I also like the comment that one of the users(Gary) made about how if Google had made a logo it would not have been ominous enough and been criticized by the same group that is complaining about the lack of a logo.
I just can't see Google making a logo that keeps with the theme of their website. If you look at the past logos they only celebrate happy holidays with their logos and they have happy little icons to represent them. I don't beleive that Google could make a logo to go with their website AND show the proper amount of respect that is do on Memorial Day.

Or would that offend certain people? Even on the side of the logo would suffice for 24hrs.There's quite a few I can think of that would fit the theme without offending anyone. Replacing the two "Os" with dog tags, replacing the the "L" with an American flag and flag pole, etc.
Here's two I just whipped-up:

EDIT: BTW, MVWRX, I forgot to mention i'm a shareholder in Google. I think I can voice my opinion, thank you.

Vibe, the red herring is bringing up Google/Chinese actions...has nothing to do with the banners...
Salty, like I said...you 'bullying' or 'using' google supports them despite what you'd like to think. The more people they have enrolled, the more ad space they can sell...even if you never click on any of it. Because all they have to do is say "Hey [insert company here], we get millions of people to see your ads" and they make money....you're one of those millions. I really think this whole thread is silly as hell. Nice work on those banners though, they look really good.
And I wouldn't accept your opinion of Google being anti-military if you dropped your account; I would however respect that you have an opinion based on your morals and stuck to it. As it is now, you're just a complainer with no conviction behind it...and I believe the reason for that is that you know it's a silly complaint.
I find it funny that you didn't bring up your shares in Google until so late...why don't you just go to the next shareholder meeting and voice your complaint somewhere where someone can do something about it?

Will I bring up this topic come Veterans Day? Yep. If stating the obvious (the lack of banners on these days) exposes the colors of a few moonbat liberals undoubtedly working for Google, then I'm all for it.
