I don't think so. The difference is that what those conspiracy theorists suggest didn't happen. Psychologists even have explanations as to why people suggest outlandish things. Google has logos for damn near every holiday (and a lot of international holidays) and even managed to celebrate petty birthdays without every acknowledging the veteran days recognized at the state and federal level. This is fact. There's much more to suggest that they are anti-military or are avoiding a military logo because they feel it will push away a lot of users than a white chair being associated with beheadings.

We can give solid answers as to why hundreds of people disappeared that flew on 9/11, but nobody has been able to give a solid answer as to why Google avoids these logos. That's all i'm saying, man. You seem to be escalating this into something of huge proportion. I don't loose sleep over this or even think about too much away from the computer. Again, we’ll see what logo they set-up for monday just before they make plans to go water skiing or take a picnic.

I looked and didn't see where anyone had posted this:

go to google
type in failure
hit "im feeling lucky"

...THAT is bull, whether you're for the man or not, he's still the President. Oh well, I guess even large corporations have protection under the 1st Amendment, too.

:rotfl: I think that is kinda funny. It should say "Mission Accomplished" somewhere in there. LOL

Whatever...Google just portrayed what the majority of the population right now thinks. People that are staunch republicans are having a hard time making excuses for W and his administration right now.

Yeah well i wont even try to explain to why that works...

Put it like this, its not googles fault, its the rest of the internets fault (and you just contributed to it by posting those key words in a public forum that gets indexed by google.. congrats on that!)

I'm just gonna search a few terms to the gist of 'how does google work' and 'I'm feeling lucky'.

I didn't realize that google had that sort of AI. That's pretty interesting.

I think I've got it.

'I'm feeling lucky' simply gives you the #1 page with regards to relevance to your search....hey, I didn't know that.

and
Of course, the modern Google pagerank algorithm has over 100 different variables that it takes into account, but the basic concept is still quite true: the more links you have pointing to you, the better your pagerank, and the better your pagerank, the more relevant your site will be for specific searches, and, finally, the more relevant, the higher you'll show in the search results and the more traffic you'll garner from Google searches!

....alright, google is just representing the amount of websites that are critical of GWB and have linked to the White House's webpage.

yupo, and their algorithm and how it works is like uber super duper secret...

i know they are moving towards looking at an analyzing the context of information that is posted. Who knows when and if they will "unleash those hounds" on their public site.

Regardless its pretty cool stuff.. and wasnt trying to be a huge dick (just a tiny or average sized dick)

Let's see how many of them drop their gmail addresses, with their 2 gb + of storage.

I thought about that but actually think they’re right in keeping it. It's not costing me a thing and I still don't click the ads in the adsense. I'm keeping for that reason.

...just because it doesn't cost you anything, you're willing to put aside your anti-Google cruisade and use their mail?

People who boycott Disney because of their labor practices have stronger convictions than that...more proof that this whole topic is hyperbolous rhetoric...
