That's an ok article. But the premise (that most of the land area of the country is republican) is irrelevant. Numbers of people matter, and yes there are obviously more republicans than democrats, but this type of generalization is exactly what the republicans acuse the democrats of doing. Also, it's not a downward spiral...it's a pendulum. If you don't realize that yet, then you're clearly taking the pulse of the country by sticking your finger up its a**.
