Here's my view of the three debates...
1st debate - Kerry handed Bush his a$$
2nd debate - fairly even, maybe slight edge to kerry for more empiracle facts
3rd debate - Not as clear cut as the first, but Kerry won and had Bush on the defensive more often than not.

"So what if they are both religeous men? Who cares. As long as it doesn't affect policy decisions then I could give a rats ***. That's why I am voting for Kerry because very obviously Bush lets his faith effect his decisions (stem cell research, abortion to name a few"
Good point, but the fact that they both drop religion during debates to win voters sucks. My ideal candidate would say that he plans on removing "In God we Trust" from our money and "...under God..." from the pledge. Any talk of religion other than that is rediculous. In other 1st world countries they laugh at the fact that all of our political candidates talk about religion even though we are supposedly founded on the idea of seperation of church and state.
(PS-The use of capitol G in God means that the God on our money and in our pledge is a specific God, the one from the Christian bible...it's rediculous, we might as well sing God bless Mr President like the Canadians)

Kerry did a VERY good job again. How can anyone say that Bush even compares to him I will never know. 3-0, Bush owned in debates, not that I had any doubts.
The real question is did it change anyones impressions on who to vote for.

First, let me quickly address this point. Our country was not "founded" on the idea of separation of church and state... it was founded on the principle of freedom of religion. The idea of separation of church and state is actually a codification imposed in the mid-20th century. Perhaps it was alluded to in the Federalist Papers, but it was not a cornerstone of this country.
And on to the debate...
More B.S. from both parties, though I have decided to not vote third party and cast it for Kerry.
There is an Indian saying that you never do business with a red-faced white man. Basically, if you cant keep your composure in the face of adversity then you arent one to be trusted. Hard to imagine how Bush is behind closed doors when he cant even refrain from making monkey faces on national / international television.
Still, I love it how both camps immediately go into Spin mode... "By far the best debate that [insert either lame candidate] has had. He is gonna steal this election!"

My opinion is that Kerry talks too much garbage, I'll take his health care reform, WTF?!?!?! you expect to cover every single kid here in the United States with health care coverage, and basically make it government funded??? wow there goes our taxes through the roof, we can't afford it, number 2, this would really not benefit the economy you provide basic health care that is controlled by the government....what's going to happen to private organizations, there goes more lost jobs, Kerry's healthcare plan  I also thought Kerry's statement about Cheney's daughter was a low blow, That's what Kerry always seems to do, trying to degrade the President and stuff. That's just some of my opinions on Kerry's garbage.
One thing that both of them didn't do well was answer the questions effectively, there were questions asked but they stayed on the same subject, now I would have to say Bush did better on answering the question more fully than Kerry did. Just my thoughts.

I would also have to say as I've always said I like how bush is more Genuine, now Kerry has voted on raising taxs and such for a long time and now he's saying he's not going to raise taxes.....hmmm he's contridicting himself as usual.
He is not being totally Genuine on his Religious Issues, I'm a Catholic I know what the rules are of the Religion and stuff, well he says he is, but in all reality he isn't (that's not Genuine) cause in the Catholic faith you do not agree with Abortion or accept it, and basic Catholic rules if you accept something like that then you are not really a Catholic.
Now yes there are ways to be Catholic and Genuine, you just say that you can't judge people here on Earth so you let people have the rights or whatever they want and feel it would be best for those people, not exactly you.
Bush when speaking on the religious part was much more Genuine and staying with his beliefs.
So just more of my rant, I would rather have a Genuine person as my leader instead of a fake.

A genuine a-hole versus a fake Catholic?
I'd probably have to go with the fake catholic myself, but I have to agree with everyone whose said they are both poor candidates.
And as I've been saying all along, the only winners are going to be members of Skull and Bones, the rest of us will lose- regardless of the election outcome

Esracer, you (and most of the country probably) misunderstood the health care thing. Kerry does NOT want a gov't funded health care plan. But he wants the system that the gov't uses for it's own employees to be availible to everyone. It's not were the money is gonna come from...it's just a way for everyone to have access to affordable health care. They'd still have to pay for it, but if the whole country buys in bulk from a select group of providers (Blue Cross/Blue Sheild, Keiser, whoever,...) then it'll be cheaper for everyone. Kerry specifically said he does not want to socialize health care...please keep up with what they said in the debates...according to the SAT people who evaluate the debates, they're both only speaking at ~5th grade level...you should be able to understand.

And who are you to say if a persons religious beliefs are genuine? His personal relationship with god is excactly that, personal. All Kerry is saying is that it isn't up to the government to decide what someone does with their bodies. I know a ton of catholics that agree with Roe V. Wade.
I for one will take someone who actually served his country, and can speak intelligently over someone who got a straight C average in college and liked to hit the bottle and the powder on occasion and then skip out on his guard duty.
But hey thats just me.....
