This is one of the best reasons to abolish the two party system.

Anytime one party can introduce a bill that would put millions of young americans to war to put a black mark on the other partys record is just as retarted as it gets.

Apparently you didn't bother to read through the link.

Sure Congress voted down one bill last month in a token gesture to both candidates so they could avoid the issue.

But the fact remains that the Bush administration has ALREADY set up most of the things needed to implement a draft, the offices and staffing are there so all he needs to do is issue an executive order.

Even a slight democratic majority in the congress wouldn't have the ***** to take him on if it comes to that, the fact that Dems floated the bill this last time around shows they won't lift a finger to stop it when it does come down.

And if people in this country are stupid enough to elect him, I'd lay money on a draft being implemented within the first year of his second term.

Although continuing to send and run stop-loss assignments for our National Guard and Reserves to Iraq- after Saddam is out of power, after it's been proven there aren't any WMD, after we've caused the deaths of over 100,000 people is going to make it so no intelligent people will be willing to enlist, we're going to need to implement a draft if only to recover from what Bushcheney inc has done to our volunteer force of americas finest.

And yeah I mean you Salty- because when people like you get replaced by draftees that REALLY don't want to be there, we're going to be really screwed

big time.

There's absolutely no need to read the link even though I read it. Even if Bush promised his children's blood to Jesus Christ himself it wouldn't matter! Nobody in congress (except Democrat's Murtha & Stark) want the draft, especially Republicans

And ^this^ is the exact reason why it'll never pass congress and he'll never execute the EO. Besides... he’d have to completely exhaust the IRR before considering reaching for the red pen.
