Draft thread to end all draft questions

The bill got shot down as it walked through the door and smothered with a whopping 402-2 vote in a Republican-controlled house!

A Democrat from New York (Rep. Charles Rangel) started this bill, NOT the NeoCons and Bush!

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washing...tm?POE=NEWISVA

The bill, introduced by Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., had little support and no chance of passing. The Republican-controlled House held the vote to make sure it was defeated during a close presidential race in which talk of a draft has run rampant. The vote was 402-2.
Charles Rangel (D) didn't even vote for his own damn bill! There are many valid reasons why a sponsor would not vote for his own bill, for example.............he could have......that is.....I mean maybe he.......Okay, I can't think of one, but surely no representative would introduce a bill on such a serious subject just as a political ploy. Would he? Next you're gonna tell me the Easter Bunny isn't real.

Rangel voted against his own bill because it was not subjected to hearings and testimony from Bush administration officials. "This is hypocrisy of the worst kind," he said. "I would not encourage any Democrat running for re-election to vote for this bill."
Yes.... Democrats are capable of some shady acts too!

But, without the draft, how will Kerry increase troops in Iraq by 40K plus?

Maybe he is using the same magic that GWB and his goons are planning on using to hold elections as planned in ALL of Iraq... or maybe the same magic that Sadaam used to hide all those WMDs...

Someone help me with this.

The Dems, in general, say this is the wrong war at the wrong time, for the wrong reason.
The Dems author a bill to re-instate the draft to force the issue of "Bad War".

The GOPs then force the Dems to step up or shut up by voting on the Draft Bill just before the election & the bill fails to pass.

Charles Rangel starts making noise about "hypocrisy".

And some of you get offended when I say that Liberalism is a mental disease?

if the actions of a select few give you enough reason to make the outlandish claim that "liberlism is a mental disease," then you lack a basic understanding of sound reasoning (and from your other posts I have taken you to be a logical, albeit disillusioned, man)

btw, it is more offensive for you to make such claims

Since this thread was supposed to "end all questions" I thought you'd find this worth checking out:

Doesn't matter... congress votes for the draft and we already know what happened to that bill. Next!
