couldnt buy a beer tonight
I went to a bar to get a beer and they would not accept my Military ID. They said some new law states that they dont need to accept the Military ID because it does not show enough official information. has anyone heard of this BS?

does it show your date of birth? even if it doesn't show your DOB it seems like it should imply "I can kill you 10 different ways without leaving a mark" which seems like it would be good enough reason for me

not sure. The guy said the State of California passed a new law about the ID and then some jackass said the people that make IDs in the area are making fake ones. I am in charge of the IDs and told him we dont make fake ones.

and we all know the NO ONE makes fake state ID's
I've had it happen to me but from what I've been told it's illegal not to accept a military ID. That, passports, state issued ID cards and drivers licenses are non-negotiable forms of identification from what I've been told. I was told this by a friend that bartends and had to take a class so it seems reliable to me. I just walk out. If my military ID isn't enough then it's not an establishment I want to spend any time in. Thanks for your service man.

Last time I checked a military ID has more information than a drivers license with the exception of address. And aren't the new IDs with the chips a bit hard to reproduce? At least harder than a CA ID I would imagine.
I have heard that military personnel stationed in California need a California ID but who is to say you're stationed here or even have a driver's license of any state for that matter? A federal document of that nature isn’t good enough? I couldn't find any hard info on if it’s true or not.
A military ID can get you into a lot of places. They can scan the card during a pre-combat jump into hostile territory and they can get you into a nuclear missile silo. But nope, not for a beer in California. ****'em and **** this place even more if true. At the end of the day I think it's a matter of them not wanting to accept the card if they choose to be ******. Don't go back to that place. Go to a place that will proudly accept the ID, law or no law.

DING!!! I feel the same way. If they don't want to accept it I tell them I just got a call about having to go kill some babies and clear a few villages. I'd rather not be in such an establishment.
