usage Over the past two decades, an important change has occurred in the use of queer in sense 2d. The older, strongly pejorative use has certainly not vanished, but a use by some gay people and some academics as a neutral or even positive term has established itself. This development is most noticeable in the adjective but is reflected in the corresponding noun as well. The newer use is sometimes taken to be offensive, especially by older gay men who fostered the acceptance of gay in these uses and still have a strong preference for it.

Have you lost your mind or something? The nerve… You go pawing through a political debate forum, find yourself right in the middle of one of the most controversial subjects we’ve discussed; Smart conversation; opinionated, controversial discussion. We tend to do this on a regular basis. See, we argue like a bunch of ninnies trying to convince others they’re wrong . This isn’t Romper Room here. From one end of the board to another it’s easy to stumble across content that one might consider offensive. But, in the political forum using “queers” to discuss Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender marriage? A term that is obviously not recognized by you or your filtering software. Instead of chiming in and partaking in the conversation, instead of requesting the post edited, instead…

^^^lol.
I agree though. if a word isnt filtered how you gonna troll soemone without even a verbal warning. I mean if **** wasnt banned i could still understand why it would be a no no.
"The Q word" is not always about being homosexual, though that is how it is used alot in our society. Stll with as far out there *** the FCC is and they let the title of a show be Queer eye for the straight guy. Hell I had it in my 3rd grade spelling book and I remember my mom laughing becuase they let that be in a spelling book.
Anyway glad to see you arent trolled for that retarded **** anymore.

others have successfully dodged the swear filter using the following technique:
1. type the first few letters of a filtered word, such as "fu"
2. set the color to black using ["color=black"] (remove quotes)
3. type the rest of the letters, such as "ck"
4. end the color setting using ["/color"] (remove quotes)
enjoy the points.

Queer is not a filtered word, nor was there any attempt to dodge a swear filter. It's used quite frequently by the LGBT community. This is a case of selective moderation, overreaction, and lack of attention.
