Damn this makes me mad. Are we still going to be fighting this war when my children get old enough for the service? Where is the timetable? What is the exit strategy? ANYONE???ANYONE????

I can see not pulling out all together but I cannot figure out why we haven't tested the waters on pulling some people out gradually. If they’re really that scared put the servicemen and women on a 2hr formation/18hrs “wheels-up” recall once they get back to the states. We’re afraid of Iran and I wish it weren’t the case. If we pull-out of Iraq now Iran with own the Shiite puppets in Iraq’s government. Hell, it may be inevitable. I wish we got along with Iran or became allies somehow. Have them take Iraq and maybe even Saudi Arabia in the process. I can’t believe i’m saying all this... I just have a hard time putting my finger on Ahmadinejad rhetoric half the time, especially given the fact Jews have always lived in Iran.

i can't stand all the rules that we have to follow but the ji-hads don't have to. if they just let us do are thing and take away the reporters and stuff this would be alot easier for us. i think if ppls threw stuff at the troops or shot at us we should have the right to shoot back with out getting permission. i agree with the shoot to kill. none of this can i have permission to shoot. sheesh drop the damn nuke. and if we retreat they will only bring the fight to our home land keep it there.

Where's the outcry on the media about this war crime?
When our troops are tortured, killed, beheaded, and dumped on the side of the road the media's nowhere to be seen, but **** me running if all hell doesn't break loose when our troops allegedly shoot a civilian.
What bothers me is that two soldiers may have died due to the ROE and/or the fear of being punished for killing a "civilian". Look at what's happening to the 8 Marines & 1 sailor involved in an alleged "murder".
In this type of warfare, with this type of enemy, define murder for me.
The Socialists are correct when they say this is another Viet Nam; the bad guys are using grenade-boobytrapped kids to kill GIs, Our troops have to get permission to shoot, the Leftist media is spinning every story as negative, etc.
I have a customer that have recently returned from Iraq.
I've talked with him many times on what he went through, and it sucks to hear the stories of his buddies or other troops getting ****ed up because the other side ain't playing fair.
It's time to take the gloves off, modify the ROE, and finish this ****ing thing once and for all.

And I've said it since the beginning. REMFs, the media, and all the arm chair quarterbacks have had this invasion on lock since day1. These groups either didn’t exist or had very limited access pre-Vietnam. It was a time when we used positive propaganda on our own citizens to get dramatic results on the war effort. The media is a powerful tool that we haven't been using to our advantage. I even posted an entry in my blog on how they put blinders on everyones eyes for more armor that isn’t necessarily safe, but is easy to package to those of us that don't know any better for the sake of popularity and the quick fix to safety

A question: Do you guys trust that the military will hold a fair trial for these guys?
I for one have no problem with this trial if they killed women and children. IF it can be shown beyond a resonable doubt.
I trust they will get a fairer trial in a military court than in a federal court back here in the states.

I was there for 6 months and everything that we do for good is brushed off and the little bad things we do are blown way out of porportion. For one of our fellow Americans to have there heads cut off is horrible and for us to go in and shoot someone that is involved with the enemy is not so bad, but it is turned around on us by our own people. I dont get it.
I had a guy in the airport on my way home from Iraq say I was a murderer and evil because I was there. I asked him if his children were safe the last 6 months and when he said yes I said your welcome and walked away.
All we can do is support the troops. As far as the media, stop hurting our own people and if you have a problem with my language or my stance on this topic, come meet me so we can talk.

You have one guys, lets say John, who tells on his neighbor, Ted, for having weapons and mortars. We go and raid Ted's house and find a good number of the items mentioned. Once we leave the area the stuff in John's house, which is more than we found at Ted's is moved to Ted's because we have been there already. Then when we figure it out we go back and find someone watching the weapons and kill them. Now its murder.
I dont agree with anyone getting killed, but if you are supporting the enemy you are wrong. When I went through my training before I went they said if someone showed force in a manner to harm you, you could retaliate. If that meant a rock or a stick or an AK47 or IED, you can stop then from what they are doing.
