For better or for worse? Why?

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush turned to his most trusted foreign policy adviser, Condoleezza Rice, to lead U.S. diplomacy during his second term, replacing Secretary of State Colin Powell, who often was out of step with more hawkish members of the administration's national security team.
Rice is the second White House loyalist to land a Cabinet post since Bush's re-election triggered a top-tier shakeup that has presented several agency heads with the clear impression that their services were no longer needed. White House counsel Alberto Gonzales is Bush's nominee to replace Attorney General John Ashcroft.

Rice is an oportunistic idiot. She f***ed with many policies while she was at Stanford, got the faculty staff and students to hate her (and be happy when she was leaving), and has done essentially nothing as security advisor (she knows less about national security in terms of info than other cabinet members did, even though that's her job). She is a pawn, a placekeeper, in this administration. She will do little harm to our country, but she won't help it at all either.
Edit: to give myself some credibility on the Stanford comments, my dad has worked there as faculty since 1989 and, although it's after Rice left, I started working here as staff earlier this year.

WORSE for the reasons dub2w and mvwrx stated above. My brother went to stanford and I remember him specifically commenting on how everyone was happy C. Rice was leaving (this is before I even knew who she was.) I can't believe she now holds one of the highest and most important positions in the country. Powells personality type (calculated and reserved) fits the job description much more than Rice's (hawkish and suffering from ***** envy.)

It's good for people that want that position to do anything W. says.
Bad for people that actually want this person to make their own decisions.
