I think we've sold f-14 parts to them. Not that it matters to us seeing how we'd just blow them out of the sky with our raptors. But still. Defense contracts make the world go round.

Iraq guard members did have "snipers" that used a version of the Dragunov during the early nineties and prior. Would take some familiarization to get used to the Steyr but not completely out of their realm. I still wouldn't rule-out that Iran provided some sort of real world training or even a how-to guide on sniping.

This situation proves how crappy the current situation is, though...

We refuse to deal with Iran and pretend that more troops are going to solve the problem. What a joke this entire fiasco has become.
