Only a website like thinkprogress, would find this humorous and relevant. I guess with the last week being such a success, you pinkos will drum up anything to fuel your anti-fire.

In the news... Zarquawi is dead, Bush met with Iraqi PM in Bagdhad yesterday and Iran is reportedly offering the U.S. assistance in Iraq, oh and Bush asked a blind guy why he was wearing sunglasses.

Its a valid question either way. Why do blind people where glasses anyways? To make us feel more comfortable? For aesthetic reasons? Strange once you think about it really. This guy has a valid reason aparently but what about the completely blind people?

It is pretty funny. It's sad though that some people are making it out to be something it's not.

Wallsten said Bush’s comments did not offend him at all. “I never advertise it to him. I’ve never told him.”

But we should all be offended.....for some strange reason.

Haaaa. Kick me, but there is this chick that walks around campus; get this; she wears a bright orange vest, carries one of those blind person sticks, yet she wears regular glasses on her face. figure that *hit out...

According to the linked article,
The disease is a form of macular degeneration that can be slowed “by wearing UV-protective sunglasses and avoiding exposure to bright light.”
But yes, traditionally I'm sure at least part of the reason the blind wear shades is so the seeing can avoid the "spectacle" of eyes that cannot see.

I agree that this isn't exactly a "news worthy" topic, but yes, slightly amusing.
