you know its funny that a lot of people place so much hope in Obama. It will be interesting to see the change of opinions of people if he wasn't to follow through with his promises. I would imagine to that if the black voters did not get what they want they would probably be quick to call him an uncle tom or the white mans puppet (mark my words on this, its coming).

only time will tell on what will happen positive or negative......

Personally I believe Bush was dealt a crappy hand throughout his administration and made the decisions he did in the best interest of the country. And guess what we haven't been attacked since Sept 11th. Although it has been a painful 3 deployments for me, I can at least say I did my part to keep this country safe.

Me being a Non-Commissioned Officer in the Army it is tough to lead and even tougher keep everyone happy. To lead is hard, you have to make decisions that will have both support and ridicule. I will say this though if you can do better run for F'ing president.

I have no doubt that Obama will follow through with his promises, however I am realistic and know how painfully slow our political system works so I don't expect to see anything drastic unless he does another term.

Politics are touchy in american society. I mean we live in a nation where oppostion to those in power mean nothing. Go say those things in China, Iraq, etc. You'd be killed quicker than minute long grain rice.
Although I don't fully believe in democracy, if practiced to the letter, it is one of the best systems. Hell, it's all i know. Although Socialism has always been appealing to me. You have to choices for dinner. Eat or not eat.
See how americans would respond to that. Yes, it's drastic and estreme, but only to prove a point.
Look at today's Capitalist China. It is interesting how they still maintain the level of communism that Marx spoke of. It is progressively moving towards democracy you say?
We shall see.

Bailouts, poor economy, look at what Mr. Obama has to face in the future. The dollar will be worth nothing soon. He needs to focus his attention where needed.

I remember a time when the dollar was able to buy 30- 40% more globally. I think it was 2007. Yes, not that long ago.

in the long view, isn't the goal at the end of it all for a mutual agreement everywhere? i feel for those who were wronged in the terrorists acts but does anyone ever think of it from the other perspective? how do you think the average iraqi citizen feels who's not part of this terrorist organization? i wonder how many of their innocents were lost when we bombed the crap out of them.. but we don't think in those terms.. we don't even see those we fight against as humans, as people who most likely have the same convictions, morals and upbringings as you and i. ever read the quran? it's not as violent as say.. the bible and a lot of the lessons learned are paralleled. one extreme faction does not define an entire populace.. flame on though. it's not like my opinion really means anything right?

Better yet, lets stick them on an island that's not ours so we can use immoral interrogation techniques.... while the whole time preaching from our moral soapbox. If we are going to fight any war claiming moral superiority, actions like those at Gitmo can not be tolerated. We are not releasing everyone, just affording them basic human rights.
