This is the ignorant american point of view that I can't stand about this country. We have very smart people, but we have some people, with the mentality of "if it dosn't affect us, why bother?" who need to get their red white and blue out their asses and look at the world around you. Is it just republicans? Hell no! There are many democrats guilty of this too.

Exactly. That attitude is the same reason soldiers in Iraq are getting hit with IEDs. If we didn't carry our ethnocentric idealism with us all the time (and into others countries) people probably would hate us so bad. Like Lewis Black said, if a guy in your office came in everyday and said "I'm the greatest motha ****er here!!! And without me, all you snivelling ****s would die". On the third day, you'd kill him.

 

Not sure if you are being serious or the sarcasm quotes are on but.....I wouldn't go to that extreme with the IEDs but we do foster alot of hatred because we are seen as arrogant *******s. The problem I have with the statements made by those two is in regards to being pissed off that we are sending aid to these countries where people (women, children, etc.) have died. If by our goodwill and the aid we send, we change the mindset of a few people over there and how they view us, and a few people lived another day then it was worth all the millions we spent.

 

Who attacked who again. Who claims that all are infidels military and civilian alike. Who called the acts of mother nature the will of Allah. Go ahead and open your bleeding heart to an enemy that would prefer to tear it out of your chest than recieve the compassion your willing to give. Threre is no way to change to preception the islamic world has for infidels. Allah deems it so.

 

No, I meant it. The majority of the people in the countries we occupy really do like us. There is a small minority that has a hatred for us that you can not begin to fathom. If you can comprehend what it'd be like to die in a burning vehicle you might be able to understand that mindset it takes to wish that on someone.

 

Whatever man...you write them off, I'll still hope for them and give them a hand when nature beats them up. Hopefully you're not one of the conservatives that claims he's Christian...compassion for those who hate you is sort of a theme in that religion.

Living in Southeastern Michigan I have the unique opportunity to live near the largest concentration of Arabic muslims outside of the middle east and I have the pleasure of knowing some very nice people. Two of them, ex-Iraqi citizens are avid Bush supporters giving much of their hard earned money to his campaign. They even have pictures up in their store with themselves and GWB. Two great guys who I have had many converstations with over the years in regards to Iraq and the war, and I have to tell you they are nothing like how you seem to believe they would be.

 

You sir, are correct. Wishing hatred on a group just because a small group (extremists) insists on terrorism is the best way to kill any relationship with have with the foreign Muslim community and those at home.

 

If it was the mindset of a few in the countries that "really do like us" in particular islamic states. You'd think the "majority" would be more than capable for controlling the minority. The facts being the "majority" has yet to stand up and seriously condem the actions of the minority. The affect that this "minority" has on the "majority" is inconceivable. See there really isn't a minority and majority. You need to come to terms with the fact that this is a world war. The state of islam has called for a Jihad. Do you understand the implication of a Jihad?

 

I (and pretty much everyone here) understand Jihad better than you understand the Islamic religion. What you are spewing is pure propaganda, and actually strengthens those who wish harm on us. Do some reading and come back; most of the Muslim world would love to get along with us.

I am completely open when it come to religion. It can be good it can be bad. I am a nationalist. When you use religion as a crutch. It become a totally different entity.
