charter schools are not an answer to public schools.

im not going to pay for others kids to go to private school. work on public schools and not try to have people run away from public schools.

My analysis:

McCain gained no swing voters, maybe even lost a few. Said same talking points that have already swayed his voters.

Obama stayed stead and probably didn't gain or lose any, except due to McCain

I missed the debate, but from looking at this thread, "I wouldn't say I would be missing it Bob."

Watching the recap right now on CNN.... looks like McCain missed his last real opportunity.

One thing I think is disappointing is that if Barack does win the election, the Dems will have control of Congress and the Executive branch. That can't be good no matter what party is controlling both branches.

Way to get an awesome movie quote in there. Now, has anybody seen my stapler? It's a red Swingline.

In seriousness, I thought McCain started off great, but his irascibility continued to be a problem to keep in check. Obama remained relatively even-tempered as usual. And, of course, both barely brought anything new to the table, as far as the issues go.

Whoever ends up in office in January, GOOD LUCK! Good luck in righting the ship... Good luck in not going back on campaign promises... What else?

Yeah, I wanted to rewind to hear it again, but I swear I heard "a fresh of breath air"

But whatever, I think they covered some issues in this debate too.

i liked obamas "we need to enforce unfair trade agreements" slipup... otherwise it was pretty boring.

nothing new from either candidate.

fine. then make public schools produce well rounded citizens instead of deadbeats and baby factories. given a choice ANY PARENT would send their kids to private k-12 over over public, but that changes at the college level. why? because our public colleges are run surprisingly well.

there's several people on this forum that i know personally who went to private or parochial schools as i did and came out much better off than 99% of public school graduates.

fact is our public schools blow almost everywhere in the nation. i shouldn't have to pay the cost to move my entire family to a place where they don't, or fit the entire bill for private education alone, just because the government is ineffective and incompetent.

simple solution: make 100% of all educations expenses AT ANY LEVEL offset dollar for dollar your taxable income. then the liberal *****es can keep the bureaucratic catastrophuck that is public education and conservative independents pay less in taxes and get to choose how their children are educated.
