what exactly is bent? sounds like the previous owner may have gotten into an accident. Im not sure if you looked under your car but try to find out and then get that part fixed or replaced.

yeah really can't tell what is wrong since we don't know anything else besides something is bent but possibly like you said the control arms or even the tie rod might be the problem. did you try and take it to a subaru service center to have them try and diagnose it. hopefully they can spot the problem without ripping you off.

also did you try and look under the car yourself. look for any signs of damge. compare the right to the left side.

The alignment shop said "something is bent" but couldn't figure out what it was? That sounds fishy. They really should have been able to spot it. Try having the dealer align it (yes, it'll cost $10-15 more) but if something is wrong, they wil almost certainly be able to spot it.

... how'd that car get onto the island to begin with? o_O

if there's no subaru dealership there, take it to another car dealership, those people at least are certified. They should be able to find out what's wrong with the suspension, if not, they may be able to point you at someone who may know what's wrong.

if you find out what order an after market replacement, not oem, and get oine for both sides, ooh yeah check your tire size pressure, and check your brakes, see if both callipers are working correctly, look at your wheel bearings too, i know it sounds like a lot, but youy can look at both sides by just taking off the tire. alos check the sway bar is that bent.
i say check the tires themselves cause i just nocked my left front out a few dayse back and the car pulls towards the DOUGHNUT.
