I don't live where it snows but if you drive conservatively the addition of anti-sway bars should be okay. Just don't set the rear to the stiffest setting. You don't want a car that's 'loose' unless you know how to recover when the tail starts to come around. Other than that, I guess the general rule of thumb is that driving on slippery surfaces needs more compliance in the suspension compared to a dry weather setup, to allow the average driver to get a feeling of when the car is about to lose traction around corners. If you have the factory springs and shocks that will work fine for winter use.
Probably an important thing to keep in mind is that braking in an AWD vehicle does not improve stopping distances over front or rear drive. The bias in the Impreza is weighted to the front brakes so the ABS is easily engaged on snow or ice. Allow yourself plenty of room to the next car in front of you.

Awesome! thanks...so not really much to be worried about with just sways...thats what i was worried about the suspension being to tight or the rear coming out alot easier than normal...thanks again for the input
