wheels/tires

FINALLY getting rid of the stock 16" rims on my '99 2.5RS. Anyone have experience with 17" vs. 18" rims (are 18's too big?)? Assume stock suspension/ride-height (for now). What would proper tire size be for 17's? 18's?
