Warping Trouble

My brakes are quick to warp, and I pick up a mean vibration with my steering wheel. I am replacing my pads in the near future, and I am wondering if it would solve the problem by replacing the rotors. What are your recomendations? I am not to worried about how look, more on how they perform.

for starters, brakes dont warp. read the link.

new rotors would be a good idea to go with the pads. bed the pads correctly and all should be well.

or, you could have your current rotors resurfaced if they are relativly new.

Ok so to re-phrase my question. I am looking at the possibility of replacing my rotors when I replace my pads. My pads are at 20% so this is needed in the near future. What type of rotors would you recomend for me? I drive winding roads at a good speed on a daily basis. So I use my brakes more than the average driver. Would it work out better for me to use my existing rotors, or would I gain a definite performance increase with another option (i.e. drilled, slotted, better quality, etc.) Also what kind of pads should I go with? I am a noob so I am trying to learn as much as possible. btw The link was very helpful to me as far as explaining what is going on. Thank you.

Try not holding the brake pedal down on hot brakes...that is a great way to deposite pad material on your rotors.
Always try to let yoru brakes cool as much as possible before coming to a stop and parking.
I use the handbrake at stoplights so I don't hold the brakes on hot rotors and I have NEVER had this problem....and I drive HARD.

I am running stock pads. I am at 50,000 miles on them. I am just trying to come up with a better performing braking system without needing a down payment for it. If different rotors would remain cooler and have less chance of acquiring build up, then I would compare price and practicallity. If doing a scrub (or whatever the technical term is) on the rotors and a different set of brake pads perform well then maybe I will go that route. As far as pads go, what should I look for to find the pad that fits me best?

How tough would it be to do my own install? Where would you recommend that I look for instructions? I ask because I would like to learn how to work on my car. I would rather invest in proper tools and knowledge versus mechanic's labor costs.
