Question USDM STI Pink springs

Hey guys. I bought these springs but then after doing some research it seems that they might not fit on the 05. Any one have any info? I heard that they changed the strut mounts for the 05 so is this why they don't fit? I also hear they are the same as the 05 springs but do they still lower the car?

Its the first two items here:
http://www.subaru.com/microsites/spt...trim=WRX+SEDAN

Here are the specs:

2004-2005 STI Spring Kit

Springs:
Q. What is the "Progressive Rate"?
A. Front 60N/mm, Rear 50N/mm.

Q. What is the "Roll"?
A. It changes with conditions.

Q. What are the I/D?
A.s and O/D?s? Inner diameter = 65mm,
Outer diameter = 88mm (front), 86mm (rear).

Q. What is the "Free-Length"?
A. Front (227mm), Rear (203mm).

Q. Will there be a height difference?
A. Adjustable. <- This makes me think the spec is wrong but other posts confimed the other parts of the spec. Is this just indicating a difference based on other models?

Q. If so, what % will there be in height?
A. Adjustable.

Q. Will there be a stiffening difference?
A. Yes, there is a difference.

Q. If so, what % will the stiffness be?
A.
2004 STi:
about 50% 2004 WRX:
about 100% 2004 RS:
about 130%
2005 RS:
about 130% 2005 WRX:
about 100%
Q. Who manufacturers them for Subaru?
A. STI.

Q. What material are they made of?
A. Steel.

Q. What process is done on them that make them
better than the others?
A. The specifications for performance were derived
from WRC Subaru Rally Car experience.

Q. Will they work on other models?
A. They are designed for 04-05 WRX & RS SEDAN and 04 STi. <- This worries me

You probably would get better feedback in the suspension forum. I'd help you but I am only familiar with the JDM ones fitting the '05

I bought these exact springs for my '05 Wrx. The dealership told me that they would fit fine. I have not yet installed them though. It reads that they will fit on the 04-05 WRX but does not say anything about the 05 Sti. A few things were changed on the 05 Sti, such as the bolt pattern 5x114.3. So maybe the strut mounts on the 05 Sti are different but the Wrx is still the same. That would be my conclusion. I'm planning on installing my springs in a few weeks, so I will find out if they fit.

Ok So I got a really good response from SOA. It looks like these don't work for either STI. They are just for the WRX and he says the don't lower the car!!:

Hello Mr. Tighe:

I have discussed your message with our Accessories Department. We
appreciate your time and efforts.

(This is about the STI coilovers)
1. Part numbers (203004S060, 203004S070, 203004S080, 203004S090) that are
offered for the 2004 WRX STi Sedan are not applicable to the 2005 WRX STi.
There is a difference between the rear suspension on the 2004 WRX STi and
2005 WRX STi. The Accessories Engineers advised that they are currently
working on these performance parts for the 2005 WRX STi. Once they are
available, they will be noted on the SPT Web site. The SPT Web site always
contains the most up to date information.

(This is about the pink springs)
2. Part numbers 203304S060 and 203804S070 are not applicable to any STi
model. These parts are only applicable to the 2004 and 2005 WRX
models(non-STi) and the 2004 and 2005 Impreza 2.5RS models. The %
information shown on the SPT site for the 2004 WRX STi is just for reference
to compare it with the other WRX and RS models. As this is misleading, the
% information for the 2004 WRX STi will be removed from the technical
information on these two parts.

(So there will be no height difference for these springs)
3. You are correct in that part numbers 203304S060 and 203804S070 are not
adjustable. The answer to that question should be no. This information
will be corrected on our SPT site.

As for these parts, Subaru of America would not recommend that you install
them on your 2005 WRX STi Sedan, as they are not offered by us for this
model.

Thank you for the opportunity to be of assistance. If you need any future
assistance, please feel free to contact us again.

Best wishes,

John J. Mergen
Subaru of America, Inc.
