Thinking about doing some suspension work soon
I have narrowed down my spring choices down to Cobb, Prodrive, and the STI Pink Springs.
My question is, it seems like there are different versions of the pink springs
there are these

And there are the pink springs that cost $400.
What is the difference between these springs and what do you reccomend. Is there a big difference between the two different STI Springs?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys

There could be a few different things different. The link provided looks made for a WRX/RS. The STi is a heavier car (the 6spd mainly). The $400 ones could take into account the difference. Also, the spring rates could be different between the WRX/STi and STi versions.
EDIT: I just looked at a website with the JDM STi pink springs, and the spring rates are definitely higher on the $400 set of JDM STi pink springs. 257/217 versus 217/195 (all measurements in lb/in).

Does a higher spring rate necessarily mean better? Also how do you think the Pink Springs would cope with the bay area's uneven pavement and hills and whatnot?
I do not have the money to upgrade my struts so I am going with springs that should be OK on factory ones.

Both are advertised as okay with stock struts. I haven't tried them personally, so I can't say from personal experience.
Higher spring rates generally means harsher ride (if you are using the same struts) but more stiffness. So, its up to you really.

should really think about going with Swift Springs, we've installed them on a lot of cars and everyone has really liked them thus far...maybe some will chime in and let you know what they think. I have them on my car and it makes for a great smooth ride, also went to the track and they handled great. FYI- I used to have STi Pinks and they are bouncy but most will tell you that, it's just how they are.
Another FYI- We never really advertise this but we sell these springs (Swift) as well, if you ended up going that route.

I can't lower my car too much because of my driveway and I also don't want to bottom out. So im looking for springs that don't lower my car too much. I heard the COBB springs lower a ton so that is probably out. So that leaves the Prodrive springs, the pink sti springs, and the jdm sti springs.
Also there is the fact that the Swift ones are about $80 more than the STI Pinks
How much do these swifts lower your car?

As far as I know:
SPT Pinks, the cheaper ones with the lower spring rate, are what is used on US STIs. They have a lower spring rate, and from what I have heard, they are about as stiff as you want to go on stock struts. They lower around half an inch.
JDM Pinks have a stiffer spring rate and lower the car about an inch.
Shameless plug, but I have a set of 04 STI takeoffs sitting in my garage. They used the regular non-inverted struts that year.
THere are some really good threads on NASIOC about springs.

First question is, what car or what struts are going to be used? USDM STi's are bouncy because they are overdamped, go with aftermarket higher spring rates and they actually ride better because they will be a better match. Don't even consider Pink STi springs if you have stock WRX struts. If you're using the STi take-offs and you don't want much drop go with JDM Pinks or Prodrives, and BTW; 04 STi struts are inverted. And if interested, we have a set of barely used STi Prodrive springs here. Hope this helps.

Subaru makes STi Pinks for the JDM and USDM markets.
the JDM Pinks:
* Cost about twice as much as USDM
* Lower then the USDM
* Stiffer spring rates then the USDM
The USDM Pinks:
* Cost half as much as the JDM
* Makes your car about 1/4"(after settled) lower then a stock STi, and does not give saggy but syndrome
* Much softer spring then the JDM
Pretty much any JDM spring/strut will be : more expensive, lower, stiffer then what you'll get from after market companies.
Just my two cents.
