tein flex prob
i have the tein flex coilovers w/ edfc on my 05 rex and im geting a very cunking sound from my rear coilovers any thoughts on how to stop it? im going nuts
i have some tein flex on my 03 rex and it makes the same sound in the front suspension along with some others such a "pshh' sound when i go over big bumps... people responded with... its usal...or different supension will make noises you are not used to... the only productive answer i found was on clubwrx which was... "Have you tried tightening down the pillowball nut on top of the strut? Also, make sure that the spring is seated correctly and loaded (it's not loose)"
I have the Tein flex with EDFC on my 05 STI and I haven't heard any strange noises and have been completely pleased.
Prior to my Tein's, I did have a "clunking" noise from my left rear strut. This was the USDM stock struts. I brought it back into the dealer and they said that the seal blew and it lost its "charge". They warrantied the part with no questions asked. I know your Teins come with a solid warranty so I would bring it back into the shop where you bought them or e-mail Tein directly and ask them.

Hope that helps.

Check the top nut on the rear coilovers, to see if they are tightened down. That was the case for my clunking. It clunked, drove it back removed the rear seat and tightend them down. No clunk, just the pssh noise now.
Well, you are not alone, and with a different brand - mine are Zeals. See here:

Unfortunately, Tein Flex are notorious for clunking. We warn all our customers before hand if they're considering buying Tein Flex. If it appears soon after install, then I would say to re-tighten the top nut, but it usually appears after many miles, such as 15k-30k. It's a flaw in Tein's design of the pillow-ball mount and associated parts. We are currently working on a set to correct this issue. We'll give an update once we're sure that the problem is resolved.

FWIW Adam, I just ordered a set of KW V3 coilovers for my 05 STi. Will be using Group N rear mounts, and the PDE camber plate up front. Praying very hard that this solves my problems! The noises the Zeals were making, was driving me crazy - it was THAT bad!
