ok, I like to plan WAY ahead so I'm looking towards this summer, I'll have an extremely limited budget because I have to help pay for school. I want to do springs but am fairly certain I cant afford struts too. Would it be ok to do some H&R springs but not get the struts yet or should I wait and do it all at one time. Thanks for any help or opinions.

Yes, you can do the springs with the stock struts, but they will be underdampened, so the ride will be a tad bouncy and the struts will probably wear out prematurely. It's not as bad as it sounds... lots of people do it and it's fine. It will buy you some time until you can afford to get the struts you want.

To look at it from a cost perspective, if you're not installing it yourself, you're going to be paying twice the labour of dis-assembling your suspension. Once when you get the springs installed and again when you change your struts.

yeah, I lowered my nissan 200sx on stock struts and it was really harsh and pretty bouncy. I realize that I would end up paying more in installation but I just dont know how much longer I can put up w/ the massive gap I have going right now.
