subframe question

I asked my friend to put my car up in the air so we can install some lowering springs today. Unfortunately, he used the front subframe as the jack point right below the radiator. So, the subframe bent about 1/2 inch or so out of place before I found out what he was doing.

Will this cause any problems with alignment or handling? As far as I can tell, it's not connected to any suspension items. A web search lead me to a thread on ClubWRX which said that the subframe's sole purpose is to help disperse energy in the event of a collision. Essentially, for safety purposes. This is supposedly supported by an article in some suby magazine which detailed the purpose of the subframe. (I'm still looking for the article for confirmation.) Then they go on about how previous versions of the WRX didn't have a subframe and while it is a safety issue, it might not be a bad idea to take it out all together. Idk about all that.

That being said, what do I do about this problem? I need to get the car aligned and don't want any extra surprises at the shop. Do I go out and find a replacement? Should I just upgrade to an aftermarket one such as a Beatrush subframe since it'll help tighten up the frame? If i can rolll with the subframe as is, I'll do so. Just wanted to get your opinions. Thanks in advance.

it should be fine. i did this also when i first jacked up my car to install some parts. some people just remove it as it weighs alot but i like to know that i have something there so when i get into a car accident i have a little more force in front to absorb more damage. it should be find and you shouldnt be worried about alignment or anything.
