StopTech bbks for 05 wrx

Hey guys I've been looking for a big brake kit for an 05 wrx. I was checking out brembo gts nice brakes little pricy but I couldn't find rears. I found a nice set of StopTechs red 4-piston ST-40 front calipers, 2 piece 332x32mm zinc coated slotted front rotors and red 2-piston ST-22 rear calipers, 2 piece 328x28mm zinc coated slotted rear rotors. I really don't know anthing about brake systems just heard StopTechs were quality. I saw fronts and rears for a about 4gs anybody know if that's decent. I plan on putting a set of 18" gold advan TC2 anybody know if they would fit n would the zinc rotors be 2much with the gold rims. I heard that I should put 6 piston in the front 4 piston in the rear does anybody know if StopTech makes them? N how much should they cost? Would this setup hold up for track and street use? Any info is good info thanks again guys. Josh

What kind of tires do you run? Why do you want a BBK?

Stoptech is a great company and puts a lot of engineering into their brakes, but you may be overdoing it.

I'm going 2 run advans and I'm pretty much preparing for more power ill be adding in the future. Not 2 mention how bad *** a pearl white wrx would look dropped with a set of 18" TC2s and the big brake kit 2 match. I plan to build a bit of show and a bit of go and zinc rotors with red calipers look tighter then a nuns ******. But still 4gs is a little steep for brakes like I could get the sti short block for less.

Stoptechs are the only bbk i know of that have perfect brake bias without swapping the rear. In short you can do the front and be done with it.
that's the setup i would go with, actually it's what i will be doing!

i would go for stoptech, but for a wrx upgrade to sti brembo would be good already.

i love BBK they just makes the car looks much better. and i love strong stopping power. but stopping power is not all about the brakes, you will need tons of grip on your tires to stop the car.

The Stoptech is designed to work with stock rears. It works great. Phil @ Element ran the Stoptech kit with a stock rear on his time attack WRX without issue (with RCE brake ducts )

If you had more money to blow you could get the full 4 wheel kit but thats some cash and I'm not sure what happens to your parking brake.

Or get the 06 WRX 2 pot subaru rear brakes that are a little bigger. And red to match the stoptechs
