STI's ride too harsh for a newborn?

I've been thinking about trading in my STI for a more "family" car like the Accord or Camry every since my son was born. Would you think the STI's stiff suspension would be bad for a newborn? Would it be too jarring for him? I'm trying to justify keeping the STI.

As long as you drive responsibly with the kid in the car, and use the appropriate type of car seat you'll be fine. Just save the canyon carving for times when the kid is with his mother.

I think this question should also be asked of the baby's physician. I'm concerned about all the nasty pot holes we have here.

Anyone else here have had their baby/kid in their STI?

A lot of perceived ride quality depends on the local road conditions. In some places back east where it snows a lot, the roads get eaten up by salt or big trucks and must be constantly repaired. Do your local streets have problems with ruts and potholes?

I guess if we'd take it slow over the potholes and bumps it should be okay.

Actually, your newborn will probably sleep like a rock in your STi. A lot of infants seem to be happier in a slightly harsh, noisy, vibration prone car than in a quiet smooth one. If it was me, I would just get some 17s with a nice squishy tire like Falken Ziex 512s, and you'll be surprised how well it rides.

I have a week old son who slept like the dead in my STI when I took him to the doc yesterday. I do not think the car matters so much as the driver does.

Put a little 'full face' helmet on the new one and DRIVE! It will also muffle the crying :rotfl:

my nephew sleeps better in my WRX than he does in his parents scion tC. Which rides alot smoother, is alot quieter, and more comfy than my car. I drive insanely slow with him in the car but he likes when i rev the motor, hes gunna be the man some day.
