so is it a direct swap for the suspension off an 04 sti to be put on an 04 wrx? i was wanting to swap the springs, struts, and top hats. anything else need to be aquired? how much of a difference will this be on my car? i have cobb front and rear sways with their rear endlinks, will this effect those? thanks in advance for the input.

It is a direct swap for a sedan as long as they are from an 04 STi. A wagon will take more work. The ride will be noticbly stiffer, however it will only lower your car about 10mm. Unless you are getting them for a steal, I would look into Koni inserts or the Tokico D-specs, you can adjust the dampening on those two and your choice of spring is limitless on spring rates.
And just F.Y.I. the stock strut tops are exactly the same on your struts and the sti ones. You might want to look into GroupN strut tops they are stiffer.
How do you intend to use the car? If just a Daily Driver I would look into Prodrive or Crucial racing springs, on you stock struts. They will give you a more desireable drop and still benefit performance, and I assume would be cheaper.
