Springs for STI
Hi there, new to the boards here, and not to up on WRK stuff.
I am picking up my new STI in a couple of weeks, and I was wondering if there was a spring available that would allow me to drop the car about an inch, while still retaining stock (ha ha) ride.
Obviously, by lowering the ride height, I get to benefit from things such as reduced center of gravity, a more aggresive stance, and, a more intimate relationship with parking standards.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Why would you even want to change the ride height of the STi. The suspension setup is designed to work with the current height it is currently at. And from what I am told, there are no sprigns available for the new STi yet.
The Subaru suspension is designed to have long travel that is why the car is setup to ride a bit high. If you do some research in to suspesion setups available for the standard WRX, you will find that the STi setup available from dealerships is a great setup because it maintains ride height but works really well in almost all conditions.

14 Yes there is a way you can lower your car 1" front and rear. I don't recommend going any lower than that.
You can buy STI Pink Springs which will do that and keep the STI name too. Here are a couple of sites that have them.

Apparently, some just have no ideas about how the Subaru suspension works properly. If you do not believe then why are the Legacy's in Japan with Bilsteins riding an inch taller than our GT models here in the states.

My first recommendation would be to wait until some STi suspension kits come out from major tuners, such as Prodrive or Cobb. That is what I'm doing. Much as I'd love to tune up the suspension right now, I have a feeling I'd just be spending lots of money and just flailing about, probably worsening things as much as I'm gaining. My aim is performance rather than looks however.
Most local people I've talked to have recommended just staying stock for a while to get familiar with the car, then buy something next year once I've figured out what needs improvement. Besides, it is something to do in the winter while not driving (oh wait, it's a AWD Subaru, not a lowered 911 -- I can actually drive in the winter!).
If you want to do something now, look at the springs and struts from RalliSpec. Maybe the STi Lowering Springs. Give RalliSpec a call and talk to them -- they should be able to give you some idea of whether they will fit and what you'll gain / lose from them. Alternately, call up Cobb or Vishnu and try to get them to recommend and source something.
The biggest problem is that the car is new. Parts of it are similar to the relatively new JDM STi v8, but not all, and obviously USA tuners haven't had a chance to get familiar with it yet.
