Spring suggestions for a non-turbo wagon

Hey,

I have an 04' Impreza wagon (non-wrx) and I am looking for a set of lowering springs.

I have heard mixed opinions about using a set of lowering springs for a WRX wagon. Anyone with thoughts, suggestions and experience.

I was looking at either Eibach or Tein but I am a little reluctant.

Thanks.

whiteline flatout springs should do the trick... looks sick and supposedly doesn't blow-out the OEM shocks..

What he said ^^^ ~ I just came off the mountain (Cascades) from fly fishing and ran into an Atom on the way down as well... hardest I have pushed my wagon since I got it ~ Damn my little OBS handled. Yes, I have done other suspension mods besides the SWIFTS!, but but the SWIFTS made the most dramatic change in handling AND looks.

Did I mention I was going DOWNHILL, yup N/A alright ;-)

Around town at sane speeds it is NOT harsh (no slamming into bumps) and no bouncing along (Civic style) either. Using GR-2's with my set up.

Check out the VbGarage...

I couldn't find GR-2 for 04+ wagons, fill me in TIA.

*edit: nhayden, get a 20~21mm rear sway bar as well, you will love it.

Thanks for the help guys. I am debating between the Prodrive and Whiteline springs, but I will take a look at the Swifts too.

I already have whiteline front and rear seay bars, end-links and the anti-lift kit. Now I want to drop the car slightly and increase stiffness more.

You use the '02's struts and put some washers to eat up the space on the rear struts... this will 'clamp' the springs and you are ready to rock after cutting one 'doughnut' from the bump stops on the front.

I can give you a 'sample washer' you will need, to make it all work. Not that tough. Sean @ Rallitek helped me figure it out...

If you have a sedan the Pro Drive and SWIFT! are equal. If you have a wagon, SWIFT! is the way to go (wagon specific!).

go with sti springs man stiffer and cheaper and it lowers your car about an inch! and they fit the wagons.

Talking

Yup! You want 'wagon specific' springs AND shocks (the sedan has a wider stance and you will get very little camber adjustment with sedan struts on a wagon). KYB has 'wagon specific' struts.

Swift or Pink has 'wagon specific' springs. If you don't use springs designed for a wagon, your butt will sag like a 60 year old ex-stripper!

I was pretty bumbed when I found out that Eibach canceled the wagon spec springs, they have the new ProKit part # as 7715-140 for the 04+Wagons, but when I called them to find out what the spring rate was, they told me it's been changed to 7714-140 which is the sedan part#. damn.

You don't need to be so bummed. Eibach is seldom recommended by guys on the Suby boards anyway! The top three are, Pro Drive, Pinks and SWIFT!. 2 out of the three make 'wagon specific'. Less drop go Pinks. More drop go SWIFT!

Now isn't that easy?

Pro Drive is made by Eibach and for 04+, they aren't different to my knowledge, I believe the 02/03 Pro Drive drops the front(or less at the rear) which ever more then ProKit, Pinks are pretty stiff for stock struts, Swift is pretty cool but cost more, ProKit is a good bang for the buck. Bur I do have a set of STi oem coming, I am gonna do STi at the rear, will keep you posted on the outcome, tho still am undecided on what to do on struts but Koni inserts seem to be the only way to go. the washer trick is worth a shot tho

I love my USDM pink wagon springs. no slammed look, and handles well. The front is a tad higher then it would be since I do have camber/caster plates up front.
