Spring recommendations for my wagon

Here's my deal - I want to lower my 2005 WRX wagon. I can't afford coilovers, nor do I want them. I hate when the rear sags - in fact, I prefer (want) to have the front lower than the rear. Most wagons I see that are on springs alone sag a bit in the rear. To make things worse, I have a 12" sub in the back that probably adds 50 pounds.

I'm not going to track the car or anything, I'm basically going for looks. So while it would be nice to have it handle a bit better, I'd rather have an as-close-to-stock-as-possible ride quality.

I don't want it to be slammed or anything, just a nice 1" to 1.5" drop in the front, with less in the rear.

Also, I'm still going to be riding on the stock struts until they wear out.

So what can I do? I'm afraid that if I just buy springs (wagon specific) that I'll be dissappointed with the stance. I've read on NASIOC that some people have put sedan springs on their wagon with nice results, but that sounds fishy to me. I've also thought about just putting lowering springs on the front and leaving the rear stock, but I don't know how the handling/ride quality would be. I also know I could get the RCE camber plates for the front which would lower the front a bit more, but those suckers are expensive!

Should I just stop being picky and buy wagon specific springs? Probably the front-runners to that right now are the Tein H-Tech or SWIFT.

Help?

Thumbs up

I would go with the Cobb Tuning lowering springs
and don't look back.

Cobb springs drop the front too much. I doubt the front struts would last long if the front is dropped 2".

I have just bought my second set of the USDM SPT wagon pinks for my car and love them. I sold my stock struts with the pinks for coilovers and wasn't happy with the harsh ride so I switched back to pinks. They won't lower your car a ton, you won't get the saggy bottom disease, the ride is not too harsh. I have auto-x with them and was very happy with the improvement. IMHO they are the best springs out there for wagons. SWIFTs and H-Techs do not compare to the pinks they are way too low and make our cars cranky.
