spring installation?
I've heard of people being able to install some without compressing the springs. I had to compress them when i installed my tein s-techs. So, i would say yes, you need to compress them.
I love the s-techs. The drop is perfect in my opinion, and the springs are still soft, so the ride quality isn't compromised. I hear the struts don't like them after a while though. I haven't had any problems with them (knock on wood).
Don't flame me for saying this, but for someone who doesn't have a spring compressor or does not feel like renting one from Autozone or equivalent; couldn't you just take some beefy zipties, sit on the spring, then zipties it tgether? That is basically what the spring compressor does. I have done several spring installs on cars and have always used a compressor, but for someone who is in a pinch, this would work pretty well. Just a thought.
