Rotational vibration - need help!

I recently had my car fixed after doing a 180 into a curb at about 100 miles an hour. They told me my rear crossmember was bent, but like you i couldn't tell by looking at it. I would reccomend having that checked again to make sure it's bent before you replace it. Also check for any damage to the rear knuckles. Those two things, along with a 4 wheel alignment should solve your problem.
Hey BoostedRex,
that's some interesting info! Did you have to remove the gas tank to access the cross-member? How much did the cross-member and knuckle-joint replacement cost?
Did you have problems with vibrations at any point? Did you get them fixed?
Thanks!
Dave.

Nice! That must have been quite the work-out. Trying to hold a differential in place while driving bolts isn't the easiest job. Did you have air tools and a hoist? Was it difficult to get everything properly re-aligned (i.e. driveshaft to differential, differential to sub-frame)? Did you need any specialty tools to replace the cross-member?
When you say "rear knuckles", you mean only the ball-joint assemby? At 100 MPH, I expected your spindle to bend for sure! Anyway, I'm gonna see if there are any shops that can re-build the ball-joint assembly . . . specifically the outer shaft attached to the wheel. If they're OK with a ball-joint shaft re-build, then I'll consider mounting a new spindle (housing) at the same time. I presume I'll need to buy a new wheel bearing again for a new spindle?
I'm still a little hesitant to invest all that money to replace the cross-member. I know the shop will totally screw me for labor and you never know what else they can screw up during the re-assembly.
