i've had this happen before on other cars, and in the past its been ABS issues. if something gets stuck in a wheel speed sensor this can happen even when you're not on the brakes.

i'd take a look at all the obvious things like tires, wheels, etc. to make sure that there isn't something simpler wrong, and then take it into the dealer.

I had this problem, it was mud caked on the inside of my wheels. It's quite possibly just a wheel imbalance.

I had a similar problem, and it was from the snow/ice packed in the wheels... like monkey was saying with the mud.

I'd get your wheels checked for balance, and i might even get an alignment check if i were you.

scoobie, could you post a follow up? i'm having similar prob. i hope it's just wheel balance fix...

i also have a lot of road/tire noise (i'm at 80k mi.) is it possible that the vibration is due to bad alignment or worn out wheel bearings?

I got my wheels balanced and that seems to work. I think my bearings are going too but i'm going to wait little longer to replace them. dont forget to rotate your tires. it made the car whole lot quieter

Another possibility is if you have aftermarket wheels that aren't hubcentric. They may not have been mounted properly causing vibration at highway speed and goes away the faster you go.

This always seems to be a wheel balancing or alignment problem. Either case, also check for uneven tire wear.
