Replacing rear strut top mounts on coilovers
Hi everyone,
I'm currently running GAB coilovers on my 2.5rs. I have this ridiculously annoying rattling sounds from the rear suspension and i have strong suspicion that it's because of the rear strut top mounts (metal) which keep clunking against the metal chassis. It's starting to drive me crazy!
Anyways...has anyone with coilovers replaced there coilover strut tops with STI rear strut top mounts?? How would one go about doing this considering that there's a large mysterious nut at the strut top. Would i have to unscrew this nut???? what the hell is it anyways??
Please help because the clunking and rattling is driving me insane and makes me feel like my car is falling apart!!!!

I'm actually experiencing some issues on my 02 WRX with my Tein s-tech's like that. The noise is coming from the front I believe. When I turn my steering wheel, I hear a "clunking" sound in both directions. I thought it could have been a boot or my axle, but all checked out fine. It was suggested to me that the top hat wasn't centered correctly and thats the noise I was hearing. It just started a week ago and the car was lowered almost a month ago. However, after inspected everything, a few sub-frame bolts were found to be lose also. Don't know how that happened, but they were lose and it cleared up some noise, but not all of it.
