Resurface is definitely more cost effective, but ultimately it depends on how worn they are. If they are close to needing replacement, there's no reason not to just replace them. If there is enough meat on them still, then there is really no good reason to replace them unless you are stepping up to a better rotor.

You will not find new rotors anywhere near the price of getting them turned. One rotor will cost more than getting them turned.

What is the issue with the current rotors? Or are you getting new pads?

If they are within spec, which you can find the minimum thickness on the back of the rotor, and just measure yours with a micrometer, or have a shop do it when you go to get the install done. Generally resurfacing is cheaper, but if the rotors are pretty worn, or you are looking to get upgraded rotors, that would be the time to get the ones you want.

Thanks,
Rick

It also depends on what kind of subaru u got. if its an STI its going to cost more if you have a forester its cheaper to just get new ones.... its all about perspective i am a big fan of resurfacing because when i go around polluting the earth as i drive my z or the subi it makes me feel good that i reuse parts that are in spec lol... thats just my 2 cents... TAKE THAT GREEN PEACE i do my part :P
