Rear Swaybar Opinion
Rear Swaybar Opinion
I read reviews and did some homework on rear swaybars and have narrowed it down to two.
1. Cusco (adjustable)
2. Helix (adjustable)
Regardless of my decision I will buy Helix endlinks, but which bar should i choose? i realize squeaking can be a major issue, but a little teflon tape should cure that (maybe some grease as well). Any info is appreciated. thanks!

I'm sure either way you'll be safe. And getting that teflon tape on isn't as easy as people made it sound.. heh.. I tried it but it just came off when trying to get the bushings over the bar. Some waterproof marine grease might be a good idea.
I've had the Helix front and rear bars with the Helix rear endlinks on for about 6 months now and they are working fine for me. I got the Helix cause they were a bit cheaper and at the time a good deal was had on the set with endlinks. If you call(or e-mail) Gruppe-S they might do a package deal on the Helix rear bar with endlinks for ya. Thats where I got my Helix bars from.

+1 for whiteline. I have been very satisfied with the quality of their products and the performance increase. I have a rsb, rear strut tower bar, diff lock bolts, and an alk and I love all of it. Highly recommended. I don't have time to write a review right now, but do some research on the company before you buy, they are a very well know, well trusted brand in the racing world.
I just put on my perrin rear swaybar and i love it. Plus it came with mounts. I dont know if you have an0 02-03 or not but if you do i would consider this because the 02-03 mounts are crappy. But you already did your homework so you already know. Pop quiz, does helix look this good?
jeez now i'm all mixed up...haha
anyone else like their perrin, cobb, whiteline, helix, hotchkis, cusco swaybar? ha
thanks guys. nice pics by the way!
and p.s. i have an 05; but either way i will purchase helix endlinks (i've heard of problems without the links) if you're gunna do somethin', do it right!

Squeaking has nothing to do with the bar itself.. its the urethene bushings that squeak and that is much more prominent in colder weather. Winter for me is a fun squeak fest..
So PurduePhiGam you got the usual "this one is what I got and its best" from everyone. Basically all the brands listed are going to do what you need them to. The 05's already have beefier stock mounts so you don't really need those. If you are concerned about weight, Cobb and Hotchkis make hollow bars.. I think the Helix are probably the cheapest, which is mainly why I went with that brand (and I don't really care about weight).

If you have a sedan, why not just throw on your endlinks and give yourself an extra 1/2 degree negative camber in the front?
If you have a wagon, why not pull a 20mm off a sedan?
The endlinks will work the bar more, effectively stiffening it, and the camber will do the same thing as the swaybar without picking up your inside wheel.
It's cheaper too

maybe it's just me but, I love the perrin bars. Their endlinks leave something to be desired though. I went through 2 sets of them. Finally put the stock endlinks on and haven't had a problem yet.
